30 Day Gratitude Project - Day 29

Today, I happen to be grateful for...

Outdoors - all seasons

  • Winter - Imagine going outdoors and hearing the crunch of the snow at your ice-cold feet. The smell of cold, clear, sharp air strong around you. Seeing the thick fog descending until you cannot see farther then a few steps in front of you. What would you rather do: go inside and drink hot chocolate, or build a snow fort while the snow exists? The latter seems more normal, to me.
  • Spring - Imagine going on a hike and hearing the soft buzz of the bees around your head. The smell of flowers, like the scent of the most expensive perfume. Seeing the many plants and animals that were seemingly non-existent in winter. What would you rather do: go home and play video games, or explore while it's cool enough outside? The latter seems more exciting, to me.
  • Summer - Imagine going outside and hearing the lively shrieks squeals of your siblings (the idea of swimming is just too exiting to not make a fuss over, after all). The smell of the chlorine in the pool, inviting and enticing. Seeing the water, still as stone, until you dive in. What would you rather do: go over and eat a roasted hot dog, or swim for four hours, enjoying it the whole time? Swimming is more fun, in my opinion.
  • Autumn - Imagine going outdoors and hearing the fallen leaves, red, gold and orange, crunch at your feet. The smell of cold, clear, sharp air strong around you. Seeing the colors on the trees, and the leaves falling like tears onto the earth. What would you rather do: go inside and turn on the heater, or try to catch a falling leaf? (By now you should know my opinion on the question.)

Have a smiley day!
